WALKERTON- Geraldine "Gerri" Ruby, 70, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN.
Gerri was born July 27, 1947 in LaPorte, IN to Clyde and Florence Eva (LaBere) Stickley and lived in the area most of her life.
On April 11, 1970 in Walkerton, IN, she was married to Richard Ruby, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Kimberly (Michael) Ross of Osceola, IN; two sons, Scott Ruby of Noblesville, IN and Steven (Angela) Ruby of New Carlisle, IN; grandchildren, Clayton and Casey Ross, Katie and Eli Wright and Lucas and Kinsley Ruby; one sister, Nancy (Tom) Bolze of Walkerton; and son-in-law, Thad (Joyce) Wright of Bristol, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Angela Ranae Wright.
Gerri was a retired rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Walkerton. She was a member of the St. Joseph County Home Demonstration Club, the Rural Letter Carriers Association and was active in the Johnson Township 4-H Club. She was a former member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, holding the highest office of Worthy Advisor.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. EDT at the Blissville Church of the Brethren, 6250 Spruce Trail, Plymouth, IN. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Visitation will be Sunday at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT and Monday at the church one hour prior to the service.
